During Spain’s press conference on Monday, RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo was adamant that both Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams were a better duo than Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala.
Both nations have arguably been the best teams so far at Euro 2024 with a blend of experienced players and rising stars who have set the tournament alight.
Olmo was bluntly asked during the press conference who was a better duo? The Spanish youngster’s or the DFB’s rising stars?
The RB Leipzig was quick to respond: “Williams and Yamal. The two play really well together. They are also very good friends, this is always a plus.”
Williams (21) and Yamal (16) have been directly involved in four and Spain’s nine goals so far in Euro 2024.
In comparison to Wirtz (21) and Musiala (21), the DFB duo have also been involved in four of Germany’s ten goals.
Spain and Germany will battle it out for a place in the final four this Friday in Stuttgart at 6pm local time.
Both sets of players and fans alike will be hoping that their side’s world class youngsters can be the difference this weekend.
