VfB Stuttgart expected to make announcements for three free transfers this week


After securing an unlikely second place in the Bundesliga, VfB Stuttgart have already been busy in the transfer market ahead of the summer window with three transfers still to be announced. 

In the past couple of days, Stuttgart have announced that loanees Leonidas Stergiou and Jamie Leweling will remain at the club permanently as VfB activated buy options in their loan agreements. 

However, when it comes to free transfers, Stuttgart have been just as active. Sky Germany reports that Stuttgart have deals for Werder Bremen’s Nick Woltemade, 1.FC Köln Justin Diehl and SC Freiburg’s Yannik Keitel all lined up and ready to be announced. All these players will add much-needed depth to the squad as they prepare for Champions League football next season.

Sky Germany also reports Stuttgart are pushing to work out a deal for Köln’s central defender Julian Chabot after the club were relegated on Saturday.

VfB are also working on making Deniz Undav’s loan move from Brighton permanent as he has been a key player in their second-place finish this season.
