June 15 and 16 saw artists come together for the annual Weverse Con.
Of course, among the lineup, one act on the first night surprised fans. Among idols from the fourth and fifth generations of K-Pop, JYP Entertainment founder J.Y. Park was on the lineup and teased with special guests.
It started off crazily after J.Y. Park collaborated with HYBE’s ILLIT for the hit track he did with Sunmi called “When We Disco.”
It was definitely the most unexpected collaboration.
It got even more bizarre for fans when J.Y. Park performed again, and it was his hit track “Don’t Leave Me” with ILLIT, BOYNEXTDOOR, TWS, and THENEWSIX.
However, the reason it was so shocking was that the last time the song was done was with JYP Entertainment artists like TWICE, GOT7, DAY6, and Stray Kids in 2018.
Yet, there hasn’t been a proper JYP Nation stage since then and the first time JYP gets on stage with a lot of artists was not only with predominantly HYBE groups but also TNX, who are from P NATION and formed on the show LOUD, whereas JYP’s own group is nowhere to be seen. Netizens couldn’t help but voice their confusion and laughter at seeing the song return with JYP to a stage with an unexpected lineup.
