BLs (Boys’ Love) have become more popular, and even in Korea, more have been released with top celebrities starring in them. It seems like K-Pop has influenced a particular BL.
Netizens recently noticed that a new Thai BL called Deep Night incorporated an iconic K-Pop dance into one of their episodes. The series follows the son of a host club owner who becomes “fascinated” with one of the most popular hosts.
The series recently aired its first episodes. During one of the scenes, a dance number is performed by two of the male characters.
As soon as K-Pop fans saw the choreography, they couldn’t help but find it familiar because of the fourth-generation boy group OnlyOneOf.
In 2021, OnlyOneOf released their song “libidO,” and it gained attention for the choreography, which was deemed “sexual” by Korean audiences. In particular, netizens believed that the choreography in the series was exactly the same as the K-Pop group.
When netizens saw the clips, they put the videos side by side and couldn’t believe just how similar they were, or some thought it was exactly the same. There were also mixed reactions as some found it awesome, but others didn’t like that it had basically been plagiarized without any credit to OnlyOneOf.
