The post details how Seungkwan first met Park, including his first impression of Park.

At the MAMA Awards, where we met again after a long time, we were taking a group photo after receiving an award. And once again, he came over first, telling us, ‘Congratulations! Let’s take a photo together!’ Almost a decade had passed, but his heartfelt congratulations and smile remained the same.

Thanks to our paths crossing like that, I was invited to the VIP screening of his movie. The theater was filled with people who loved and supported him, and I was grateful to be a part of it all. As for the movie, I was not expecting to be so touched.”

While, on the surface, the post reads like a message of appreciation for Park inviting the idol to the movie screening, one of the three pictures included in the post is what made SEVENTEEN fans emotional.

“Until now, I would watch movies for the sake of rating them. It didn’t matter if I watched a superhero movie or a time-slip one. I watched them for the entertainment, knowing the possibility of having such things come true is obviously none. But after watching Wonderland, I found myself hoping for the first time—for a world like Wonderland to come true. I wondered if such a world could ever exist in the future. What if there could be farewells that preserve the preciousness but minimize sadness? Even if that sounds like a fantasy…

The things left behind are limited, and memories fade over time. But instead of grieving alone, what if we could ask about each other’s well-being? About whether or not we’ve had our meals or how we like the weather… What if we could go about our days, but when we wanted to, we could come together for some beer? Even if we couldn’t actually hear the clinking of the glasses, wouldn’t it be great if we could still have that feeling of sharing a drink together? AI or not, if there could be any way to bring that back… Would that help us crumble a little less? I was so lost in thought, until I snapped back to reality. And that’s when regrets came flooding over me.

I’ve been feeling more warmth and preciousness toward people these days. I know I can’t be a good person to everyone, but seeing sunbae-nim has motivated me to be a good person to all those who helped me live. This all might sound so grand, over a movie that I got to watch—thanks to sunbae-nim who isn’t even particularly close to me. But the movie left such a deep impression on me. Because I had the chance to meet such a good, heartwarming sunbae-nim like you, I also had the chance to watch such a good, heartwarming movie. Thank you, @bogummy hyung!”

The movie Wonderland has been teased to feature an AI service connecting the living with their loved ones who have passed.

The sci-fi drama film revolves around a virtual platform service called Wonderland, which creates a virtual version of a deceased person through artificial intelligence. The story follows a group of people using the service to reunite with their late loved ones and communicate with them through video calls.

Upon noticing that Seungkwan posted a picture of him with the late ASTRO member Moonbin, CARATs realized Wonderland must have been heartbreaking for Seungkwan.
