Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor are back with a new tale from Chanderi which is more horror and less comedy.

Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao are back to entertain the fans with the horror-comedy Stree 2. After announcing the new release date, the makers have now shared an intriguing trailer of the movie giving fans chills down the spine. 

On Tuesday, Rajkummar Rao took to his Instagram and shared an intriguing teaser of Stree 2 and captioned the post, “Iss baar Chanderi mein azaadi ke din hoga aatank! The legend returns this INDEPENDENCE DAY, 15th August 2024!” The teaser opens with the unsettling inauguration of a towering idol of Stree in Chanderi, setting a creepy tone that intensifies. Blended with chilling sequences and some bone-tickling laughter, Shraddha Kapoor appears with an intense presence. The trailer gives a surprise glimpse of Tamannaah Bhatia and hints at a lively cameo. Rajkummar Rao reunites with Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurrana adding a comedic flair. 


Fans couldn’t stop themselves for hailing the teaser. One of the comments read, “Best teaser of the year.” Another commented, “Another 100 crore loading.” Another comment read, “now that is the best comeback.” Another user wrote, “finally the wait is over.” Another user commented, “Tamannaah Bhatia looks sizzling.” 

Stree was released in 2018 and opened to positive reviews and emerged as a commercial success at the box office. The music of the film also drew a lot of praise and songs like Milegi Milegi and Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe became raging chartbusters. The audience also fondly remembers Kamariya featuring a scintillating Nora Fatehi, who grabbed a lot of eyeballs for her moves on the track.

In addition to Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, the film also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee. Directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on August 15 and will be clashing with Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein. The movie is a sequel to the hit horror-comedy Stree and is a part of the horror verse which includes films like Stree, Roohi, Bhediya and Munjya.
