Starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan in the leading roles, Kalki 2898 AD is on a glorious run at the box office. The epic dystopian sci-fi action drama, directed by Nag Ashwin, already crossed Rs 500 crore mark at the global box office in its four-day extended opening weekend.

As per the early estimates from the entertainment tracking portal Sacnilk, the film managed to maintain its momentum and earned Rs 34.60 crore net. The domestic net collection of Kalki 2898 AD for the first four days was Rs 309 crore, and thus its five-day net India total stands at Rs 343.60 crore.

Kalki 2898 AD earned Rs 88.20 crore net in India on Sunday. Though the film saw a dip of 60% in its collections on its first Monday, it is a very good hold and thus, the Nag Ashwin directorial has passed the Monday test. Most Indian films have not been able to open at Rs 20 crore post-pandemic so to earn Rs 34.60 crore on the first Monday means that Kalki 2898 AD is set to shatter more box office records in the coming days.

Inspired by Indian mythology, Kalki 2898 AD is touted to be the most expensive film in Indian cinema with a whopping budget of Rs 600 crore. Apart from Prabhas, Amitabh, Deepika and Kamal, the film also stars Brahmanandam, Shobana, Anna Ben, and Saswata Chatterjee in pivotal roles.
