R E L Follows Her “Intuition” In New Music Video

Los Angeles based and Chicago bred singer and artist R E L creates a unique new musical genre she coins as “EVOCAPOP”. Her songs have over 20 million streams and the artist touches listeners around the world with her evocative pop music that is drenched in alternative soul. Her latest release is the deeply personal song “Intuition”.

“Intuition” is a call for inner strength and embracing vulnerability, empathy and sensitivity. R E L details her own struggles with feeling loved and confident in the western world where she and many others are inundated with unrealistic expectations and measures of success. She shares, “I’ve learned to let go of a lot of holding I didn’t need, and to embrace the vulnerability, keeping my heart open through it all, even when it hurts like hell and feels pretty unbearable.” The song is filled with sparse beats, dark sonics and R E L’s warm and soulful vocals. The chorus is climatic and intriguing and R E L’s intense vocal delivery brings chills to the listener. Elements of rock, pop, soul and downtempo electronic all collide for a genre-defying masterpiece.

The song is shared alongside a music video which shows R E L as a pierrot which is a metaphor for a person with many masks, hiding themselves. As the video unveils, R E L sheds those disguises and masks showing the viewer her authentic and true self. This symbolizes the song’s narrative of utter self acceptance and truth.

R E L’s musical influences range from Queen, David Bowie, the Beatles and Beach Boys to Sara Bareilles, Sia, Florence and the Machine, Stromae, Caroline Polachek and Beyoncé. Her debut EP was shared in 2015 and since then the creator has received acclaim from high profile media, Spotify official playlists and more.
