Most fans of K-Pop are aware of the sometimes harsh physical standards idols and those wishing to debut face. Some idols have openly discussed how they tried or were advised to fit these standards, sometimes including plastic surgery or other cosmetic procedures.
NCT DREAM’s Chenle Shares He Was Advised To Get Cosmetic Procedures Done Before His Debut
Recently, an ex-pre-debut idol talked about her experience in the industry, including how her company sprung a cosmetic procedure on her.
Influencer Dabin Kim is active on multiple platforms, sharing lifestyle content with over 100 thousand followers.
However, from 2019-2020, she was a member of the pre-debut girl group ONO Girlz (previously known as Black Mamba). The group existed from 2017 to 2020 and have since disbanded due to the closing of their company, ONO Entertainment.
In a new TikTok, Dabin talked about her experience in the group, saying that it was so traumatic that she blocked out a lot of the experience. She said she traveled to Korea just after graduating high school and was recruited at 17.
She then explained that she was recently reminded of when her company brought her to a place where she was given “fat dissolving” injections in her thighs. This was done without her knowing what was going to happen.
They injected me with fat dissolving chemicals in my thighs without me knowing. I didn’t know what I was showing up for.

The injections she is referring to are meant to breakdown the fat in the location they are injected, sometimes removing the appearance of cellulite. There are many options for these injections available, however, only two have been approved by the FDA.
The FDA also warns of the risks of using other fat dissolving options, as they can cause severe infections, skin deformities and persistent scarring.
Dabin continued her story, saying that she was just told where to show up for what was supposed to just be what sounded like a surgery consultation. She was then taken into a room where the procedure happened.
But I remember they told me to show up to this office, and they were like ‘they’re gonna like check you out’ basically like oh ‘they’re gonna see what work you need to get done.’ And I’m like I don’t want, I don’t, I don’t want any work done. […]
I show up and they take me to this room. All I remember is them carting out this giant, like this giant little like literally looks like a propane tank. but these giant tanks filled with fat dissolving chemicals they were gonna inject into my thighs. It was like three needles in each leg and it was connected to this tube that was connected to that tank.

She says that her thighs swelled to two times their usual size and that despite feeling nausea, had to go to dance practice.
Thankfully, Dabin did not seem to have the bad side effects listed and is out of that situation!
