LE SSERAFIM Under Fire Once Again For Replacing Live Singing With Dancing On Variety Show

The excuse was due to “unavoidable circumstances”.

It seems that LE SSERAFIM just can’t escape the criticisms they’ve been getting lately for their disappointing vocal abilities, with a video from over a year ago resurfacing due to the ongoing controversy.

The video in question is an episode of Kstar Next Door, a music talk show hosted by Jonathan that features a variety of musical guests to talk and show off their singing abilities.

The format of the show is that, after an interview/talk with the guests, they will then put on a live vocal performance. Netizens noted that even foreign idols such as the members of &TEAM were able to perform live without issue.

Sometimes a whole group will perform live, while other times the whole group won’t be there and even the non-vocalists will perform, such as when some of IVE‘s members appeared on the show.

However, when KazuhaSakura, and Eunchae were on Kstar Next Door during their “ANTIFRAGILE” promotions back in late 2022, the show didn’t finish with a vocal performance but rather a dance performance due to “unavoidable circumstances”. It wasn’t explained what these circumstances were, but netizens now believe that it’s because the three weren’t confident enough in their vocal abilities to sing live.

Caption on screen:  “Due to unavoidable circumstances on the on-site conditions, we have swiped the K-pop live to dance.”

Comment: “It’s the first time seeing a group not sing live and just dance instead. Practice your singing more.”

This is allegedly the only time a K-Pop group appearing on the show hasn’t done a live vocal performance at the end, which is why it’s getting renewed attention after LE SSERAFIM’s recent singing controversies.

Here’s what netizens are saying about the incident.
