Kristel Fulgar is a Filipino singer, actress, and YouTube content creator. She is currently based in South Korea, vlogging her life for her thousands of followers to watch.
Fans who follow her on social media know that she is currently seeing a 39-year old “normal citizen” in South Korea.
The two have been going on several dates as seen on the Filipina’s social media pages. At this point, however, they are not yet officially together. Kristel mentioned in a recent interview with PEP.ph that one thing is holding her back from accepting him fully: her religion.
Kristel and her family are members of Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC), a Filipino-founded Christian church. Members are discouraged from marrying people who do not share the same faith.
Kristel’s mother asked that she stay single until whoever she dates converts to INC. The singer-actress, on her part, is more than fine with heeding this request.

According to Kristel, it is one of her non-negotiables to be of the same faith as her partner.
I’m INC, so it follows that if ever we are seeing someone or we’re boyfriend/girlfriend already, then they have to be part of our church.

This issue is what held her back from fully committing to her suitor, saying, “I liked him already since the start but even then in the first few months that we knew each other, I wasn’t ready to fully commit to him. I mean, he wasn’t ready…he wasn’t part of the church yet.”
Now that he has expressed his intent to begin his conversion process, Kristel expects that he will be part of her church in a few months. Thus, she is now ready to officially become his girlfriend.
I’m seeing [his willingness to convert] now. He’s processing it already. In our church, you can’t just enter when you want. It’ll take time, it will take months. So he’s in the middle of the process now, and that’s all I was waiting to answer his request for me to be his girlfriend.
