On June 10 at 4 PM KST, EXO’s Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin’s (EXO-CBX) agency INB100 held an emergency press conference at the Shilla Hotel to report claims of unfair treatment by SM Entertainment.
The press conference was held by ONE HUNDRED’s Cha Ga Won, legal representative Lee Jae Hak, and INB100’s CEO Kim Dong Jun.
Also, the three members involved did not attend the emergency press conference. Although Chen and Xiumin’s exact schedules were not revealed, Baekhyun was holding his solo concert in Hong Kong.
However, netizens wondered if the press conference needed to be an emergency. INB100 announced at 8:55 AM KST that they would hold the emergency press conference at 4 PM KST that day.
During the Q&A session, a reporter asked, ”Was there a reason for holding a sudden press conference today?” To this, EXO-CBX’s attorney stated, “there was concern that the reputation of the artists would be damaged.”
After receiving the emergency notice the same morning, many reporters attended the press conference. Before the start of the meeting, there were so many reporters that extra chairs had to be added. It was also revealed that girl groups cignature and EVERGLOW held showcases on the same day, but many reporters gave up the schedule to attend EXO-CBX’s emergency press conference.
Netizens agreed that they did not feel that the press conference was necessary.
