Edin Terzić sets ‘mission’ for Borussia Dortmund after Champions League final defeat

Borussia Dortmund may have missed their shot at redemption, but they can wear their hearts on their sleeve after their Champions League campaign.

A dominating first-half saw Niclas Füllkrug, Karim Adeyemi and Marcel Sabitzer all come close for Dortmund, but it was Real Madrid who showed the killer instinct with goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr. in the second-half.

But Edin Terzić is ‘proud’ of his players, and wants to instill belief in the squad.

Speaking after the game, Terzić said: “We lured almost 100,000 people to London with the belief that we would win this game. We also have one wish: even if it gets tough and doesn’t work out right away, that you don’t start to doubt immediately after the first experience that you would have wished differently.

“We need this belief. Only with this belief will success and self-confidence emerge. And that is the clear mission from tomorrow.”
