Netizens believe that BLACKPINK‘s Jennie might have thrown shade at her former agency, YG Entertainment.
Following months of speculation, many were surprised, but not when it was announced that none of the members of BLACKPINK would be resigning from YG Entertainment for their solo activities. Each of the members has since made moves in their solo career, as many believe there will not be group activities from them in the near future.
In December 2023, Jennie announced the opening of her own company, ODD ATELIER, exciting fans for this new career chapter.
Jennie’s solo activities seemed almost immediately to increase, with fans slamming YG Entertainment over the company allegedly holding the idol back. This was seemingly proven with Jennie’s post about one of her releases being over three years old.

Now fans have cause to believe that Jennie has unleashed her frustration with her previous circumstances.
On June 19, Jennie opened her solo TikTok account, aptly posting a video with her song “Solo.”

The following day the idol shared a video for her recently announced campaign with BeatsByDre. Previously, all that was shared were photos of the idol holding the earbuds.
The clip shows close ups of Jennie with the earbuds, looking gorgeous as a song plays in the background. Upon closer examination, in the section of the TikTok that would show the name of the song being played, “UNTITLED — Jennie” is shown, with it linking back to the idol’s profile.

While many were excited for new music seemingly pointing to JK1, the nickname her first album is known as, others couldn’t help but notice the lyrics to the unreleased track.
The lines seemingly hint at Jennie’s past with YG Entertainment, calling out the company for their mistreatment of her and the other members of BLACKPINK. The lyrics seem to hint at the history making success BLACKPINK has had over the years, despite their lower than average number of group activities.
