Actor Byeon Woo Seok, who has recently skyrocketed to fame due to his role in the tvN drama Lovely Runner, was moved to tears during his fan meeting in Manila on June 22.
The event, part of his 2024 Byeon Woo Seok Asia Fanmeeting Tour SUMMER LETTER, took place at the New Frontier Theater and drew a massive crowd of enthusiastic fans.
Despite the joy of meeting his fans, Byeon candidly shared that he was not in the best physical condition. He expressed his concerns, saying, “I was worried I wouldn’t be able to fully enjoy this moment with you all because of my health.” While Woo Seok’s vulnerability touched the fans’ hearts, they were even more endeared when the actor credited them for being the reason he could have fun despite feeling ill.

Byeon’s sincerity and warmth only endeared him further to his supporters. Though enthusiastic and excited to see him, Woo Seok’s fans understand the actor is under a lot of pressure as of late due to his crazy surge in popularity. With his schedule likely packed, it’s understandable he isn’t able to feel 100% at all times. The fact that he’s constantly under massive public attention also doesn’t help.
One example of his soaring popularity is the fan meet tour itself. The demand for tickets to his upcoming fan meeting in Seoul was so high that it caused ticketing platforms to crash, with over 700,000 fans trying to secure a spot. Unfortunately, this has also led to illegal resales and ticket scams.
Moreover, Byeon has had to contend with invasive behavior from some overly zealous fans who have followed him to his accommodations and even overseas. In response, his agency, Varo Entertainment, has vowed to take legal action against any violations of his privacy.

Despite all these challenges, fans are happy to see their relationship with Woo Seok remain close as the actor isn’t afraid of showing just how much the fan support means to him. It even moves him to tears!
