Update: The article was updated with comments from T-Mobile.
Some mobile customers of Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) roaming outside the U.S. have reported problems connecting to the network started Wednesday evening.
“Some customers traveling internationally are experiencing service issues. Phone calls and data sessions are successfully completing about 70 percent of the time. Our teams are actively working with our roaming provider to resolve the issue,” said a Verizon spokesperson in a statement to Seeking Alpha.
The spokesperson noted that it was a broader issue than just Verizon customers.
“An international third party communications provider is having issues with voice and data connections with U.S. based customers traveling overseas,” added Verizon.
Some users on Reddit also complained about some users of AT&T (T) and T-Mobile US (TMUS) facing similar issues.
“The AT&T network is operating normally. Some customers traveling internationally may be experiencing service disruptions due to an issue outside the AT&T network. We’re working with one of our roaming connectivity providers to resolve the issue, said an AT&T spokesperson in an emailed statement to Seeking Alpha.
Meanwhile, T-Mobile said in a statement to Seeking Alpha that the company was one of several providers impacted by a third-party vendor’s issue that is intermittently affecting some international roaming service.
The company added that it was working with them to resolve it.
Actor Patrick Schwarzenegger took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to raise his concern. “Does anyone else have Verizon and overseas? Everyone I’m with phone just fully stopped working… anyone else?” said Schwarzenegger in a post on X.
