Warner Bros. Discovery (NASDAQ:WBD) have raised the price for its ad-free versions of streaming service Max ahead of the season 2 premiere of HBO’s House of the Dragon on June 16.
Starting Tuesday, the Max Ad-Free plan price will increase by $1/month to $16.99 from $15.99 per month. The yearly Ad-Free plan will increase by $20/year to $169.99 from $149.99 per year.
Meanwhile, the Ultimate plan price will rise by $1 per month to $20.99 monthly, and by $10 per year to $209.99 a year.
The prices do not include applicable taxes.
The company noted that the with Ads plan prices, monthly and yearly, will remain the same, $9.99/month and $99.99/year, respectively.
The increased prices are effective immediately for new subscribers, while current customers will have some time to adjust to the price rise.
Warner Bros. Discovery added that existing subscribers will be informed 30 days in advance of their plan renewing and see price increases starting from their next billing cycle on or after July 4. Current yearly subscribers will not see an increase until renewal.
Besides House of the Dragon season 2, other titles offered by Max consist of The Penguin, and new seasons of HBO’s My Brilliant Friend, Industry, The Sex Lives of College Girls and Sort Of, plus NBA, NHL and MLB games.
