Kartik Aaryan dedicated himself completely to his latest release, Chandu Champion, portraying Padma Shri winner and India’s first Paralympic gold medallist, Murlikant Petkar. Directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film had a pretty decent second week at the box office despite facing competition from Abhay Verma and Sharvari’s starrer horror-comedy Munjya.
Chandu Champion earned Rs 35.25 crore in the first week and in the second week, added another 19.99 crore to take the overall collection of the film to Rs 55.24 crore. The film had a solid second weekend, where it had added Rs 14 crore to its kitty. Even on the weekdays, the film was going steady with an average of Rs 1.75 crore for the first three days of the week. But on Thursday, the film crashed down to Rs 49 lakh, as per early estimates by Sacnilk. This is due to the release of Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer Kalki 2898 AD which set the box office on fire with a first day collection of Rs 95 crore; the biggest opening day of Indian Cinema.
Kartik is now gearing up for his next release Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 which also stars Triptii Dimri, Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit. The film slated to be released during Diwali, will be clashing with Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again. The film also stars Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Tiger Shroff and Jackie Shroff.
