Junaid Khan opens up about ‘Maharaj’s court issue: ‘We were all on edge a little bit’ | Hindi Movie News



Junaid Khan, who debuted this year with Siddharth Malhotra’s film ‘Maharaj,’ follows the footsteps of his father Aamir Khan. The movie stirred controversy earlier when the Vishwa Hindu Parishad objected to its release and was temporarily put on hold. On June 21, the Gujarat High Court permitted the release of ‘Maharaj’, which then premiered on OTT. Junaid Khan shared how he felt during the uncertain time before his debut film’s release. .
During the interview with Bollywood Hungama, Junaid Khan shared that it was a difficult time when the biographical crime drama faced legal challenges and its release was delayed. Revealing about the same, “We were all on edge a little bit, I think. But there was a lot of faith in the film from all of us and people who have seen the film.”
Junaid further added that mostly everyone who watched the film before the release felt it was just a matter of time. According to him, the movie has been handled sensitively. “That faith was always there from Yashraj and Netflix. That gave us some courage”.
He revealed that his father Aamir Khan ‘really liked the film.’ He also shared that, “It doesn’t occur to him. He doesn’t analyze films when he watches them. He watches them to have fun.”
Apart from Junaid, ‘Maharaj’ also stars Jaideep Ahlawat ,Shalini Pandey and Sharvari Wagh in the special appearance.
