‘Sharmajee Ki Beti’ director Tahira Kashyap says it is ‘very difficult’ to get the female-led films rolling |



Tahira Kashyap, who has directed the recently released film ‘Sharmajee Ki Beti‘, has opened up about how difficult it is to make female-led films. Her film ‘Sharmajee Ki Beti’ has started streaming on an OTT platform from today, June 28. The film has Sakshi Tanwar, Saiyami Kher, Divya Dutta, and Arista Mehta among others in the lead roles. As her film is finally released, Tahira spoke about how tough it is to get the film,as it was shouldered by female characters.
The director spoke about all the hurdles she had to overcome to finally bring the film to release.In an interview with India Today, the ‘Sharmajee Ki Beti’ director opened up about her journey of getting a producer for the film. She also spoke about how the coronavirus pandemic and the following lockdowns slowed down the film further.
The star wife also divulged about how things were ‘limited’ because of the fact that women were leading the film. “There have been a few pushbacks and cutbacks and, I won’t deny, that it’s very difficult to make a female-led film. I think it will probably take 10 more ‘Crew’ before it’s normalised,” she said.
Tahira also expressed her happiness in witnessing some of the recently released female-led films including ‘Munjya’ and ‘Crew’ doing exceptoonally well.
