Shanthi Priya says she regrets leaving Bollywood after marrying Siddharth Ray, advises newcomers, ‘Chodhna mat industry ko, aana bohot mushkil hai’ | Hindi Movie News



Actor Shanthi Priya, known for her work in Tamil and Telugu cinema, made her Hindi debut in 1991 with Saugandh alongside Akshay Kumar. After a few successful films in Bollywood, she left the industry in 1992 to marry actor Siddharth Ray and focus on her family. Despite enjoying a happy married life, Shanthi Priya regrets her decision to quit Bollywood, citing the challenges of re-entering the industry after a long hiatus.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, she advised newcomers, “Chodhna mat industry ko, aana bohot mushkil hai” (Don’t leave the industry; it’s very difficult to come back). Reflecting on her own experience, she shared, “I still think that I shouldn’t have quit Bollywood. Because I felt did I not value my work. When I’m seeing my comeback now, the way I’m doing which I never did when I was a newcomer. So my advice to all the newcomers who get married but don’t leave the industry but if you want to leave the industry think twice.”
Shanthi Priya’s husband, Siddharth Ray, passed away in 2004 due to a heart attack. After his passing, she did some television work before making a Bollywood comeback in 2022 with the series Dharavi Bank which received good reviews.
