As stated by News18, The Shrimad Bhagwat Purana describes Kalki as being born to an ascetic Brahmin named Vishnuyasha in the town of Shambhala, located in the Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh. Wielding a blazing sword and riding a white horse, Kalki is tasked with annihilating the wicked and restoring righteousness. In Kalki 2898 AD, the setting is a place called Kashi, which is under the tyrannical rule of Yaskin, portrayed by Kamal Haasan. Deepika’s character, Sumathi, is the one carrying the prophesied child, and Prabhas‘ character is assigned the task of capturing her, while Amitabh Bachchan’s Ashwatthama vows to protect Sumathi and her unborn child.

The film’s exploration of the Kalki legend and its integration with a futuristic, science-fiction narrative has generated immense anticipation among audiences.
