Kartik Aaryan‘s ‘Chandu Champion‘ directed by Kabir Khan has been doing an average business in the theatres ever since the film released. However, Kartik has got immense accolades for his performance and so has the movie. It’s based on the life of Murlikant Petkar who is India’s first Paralympic gold medalist.
Amidst the praise which the movie is getting, cricketer Virender Sehwag has also showered love on the film since it is filled with the sportsmanship spirit.The cricketer expressed his thoughts on the movie during a chat with with host Gaurav Kapur, saying that he was deeply touched and emotional by this film and to realise how difficult it was for Petkar to get gold home. Sehwag added, “Maine kal ek picture dekhi uska naam tha Chandu Champion. Kamaal ki picture hai. Usme dikhaya gaya hai ki jo humare paralympic ke khiladi the unki kitni dikkaton ke saath guzarna pada. (I saw a movie whose name is Chandu Champion. It’s an amazing film. It showcases the struggles of our paralympic players.)”
Kapur echoed his sentiment and added that people should get to know the story of other sports and sports personalities as well, apart from the field of cricket. Meanwhile, many other celebs showered love on Kartik’s performance. Karan Johar recently took to his Instagram and said, “Kabir Khan directs this brave and inspiring life tale like a love letter to the human spirit. Kartik Aaryan gives his career-best performance with a humane and honest portrayal.”
Post ‘Chandu Champion’, Kartik will be seen next in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’.
