Hansal Mehta slams Nagarjuna fan-pushing incident, reveals the star ignored requests to meet his son who has Down syndrome | Hindi Movie News

Director Hansal Mehta and his son, Jai Mehta, shared their disappointment regarding an incident at Mumbai airport where a fan was allegedly pushed by South actor Nagarjuna’s bodyguard. Jai, thinking about his brother Pallava, who has Down syndrome, found the incident disturbing. He mentioned that, despite Pallava’s repeated requests, he never got the chance to meet his favourite star.Hansal Mehta quoted Jai’s sentiments on social media.
Jai mentioned that the fan might be ‘specially-abled’ and remembered encountering him at an airport store before. He expressed criticism towards Nagarjuna’s bodyguard for his behavior and emphasised the importance of celebrities, politicians, and sports personalities showing more consideration and less self-centeredness in their interactions with fans and the public. He wrote, “The security guards ought to be educated on how to control a crowd better and more respectfully. Celebrities/politicians/sportsmen need to start being a little less self-obsessed and a little more giving.”

Jai also mentioned that Nagarjuna didn’t even look at the person his bodyguard had pushed aside. “But I hate that he didn’t even bother to look at the person that walked into him and didn’t even bother to look back the person that got shoved away from him by his security guard,” he wrote.
He added that, although his brother Pallava is a huge fan of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, he abstains from taking him to events to avoid similar incidents. Jai mentioned that Pallava often receives “weird looks” from so-called “woke people.”
Hansal Mehta supported Jai’s tweet by sharing his own experience of unsuccessfully trying to arrange a meeting between Pallava and his favorite star. He wrote, “True story. So my son Pallava is a fan of this massive star. I’d requested through his brother, his close friends at various times that meeting the star would mean the world to him. And it would be my gift to my boy. When his eyes were operated the first person he recognised in the newspaper was that star. But no. There was no response from the star or his friends. I gave up. Now over the years Pallu’s cognitive abilities have declined. And this will have no meaning even if it has to happen”.
