The 45-year-old actress announced the birth of her third child, on the occasion of her birthday. Kaling shared the happy news and a couple of photos of the baby girl, named Anne. She penned a heartfelt note that read, “In late February, I gave birth to my daughter, Anne.She’s the best birthday present I could’ve ever imagined.”
“When things are hard, whenever I veer towards cynicism, my three kids are such a great reminder of the pure joy in my life. I’m so lucky I live in a place where I could do this by myself, on my own timeline. Thanks for all the birthday wishes,” she concluded.
In addition to her newborn daughter Anne, Kaling is also a mother to 6-year-old daughter Katherine and 3-year-old son Spencer.
The news of Kaling’s secret birth delighted her fans and friends, who took to the comments section to congratulate the new mom. Kaling has kept the identity of her children’s father private. However, she has previously addressed rumours that her ex and good friend BJ Novak is the father. Without confirming or denying the speculation, she told Marie Claire. “Novak is the godparent to both my kids — and they have such a great relationship — and so far [the speculation hasn’t] affected my happiness at all, it hasn’t affected my kids or BJ.”
“If that’s what is going to be titillating to people, I’ll take it,” she added.
