Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD sells over 2 lakh tickets for opening day in India, collecting over Rs 6 crore | Hindi Movie News



Till now, advance booking for Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone was open in international markets like North America, Australia, UK and UAE. But on Sunday evening, the floodgates were opened in India, and the film has been receiving tremendous response from the audience cutting across the language barrier.
As per Sacnilk, the film has till now sold 2,10, 450 tickets just for the opening day, amassing a total sales of Rs 6.25 crore. The film will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam languages, and will be available in 2D , 3D and IMAX 3D format. The film has already secured all 26 IMAX screens in the country.
The maximum number of ticket sales has happened in Telugu languages, in both 2D and 3D format, with nearly 1, 20,000 tickets sold in 2D and about 80000 in 3D, with Hindi 3D being the next biggest contributor by selling 6650 tickets. The film has over 3200 shows for the opening day.
Kalki 2898 AD is Nag Ashwin’s mythological sci-fi futuristic film which has seeds in Mahabharata. It is slated for release on 27th June, which premiere shows kickstarting in the United States of America on 26th Jun. In North America, the film has already sold tickets worth US $ 2.5 million for its premiere.
