Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, who were in five years of relationships before they parted their ways in 2013, reunited for Anurag Basu’s film ‘Jagga Jasoos’. During a promotional interview, Ranbir took a dig at Katrina and even doubted her acting skills.
When Katrina and Ranbir were interviewing for a channel, the actor was asked to comment on Katrina’s acting abilities.Ranbir stated without pausing that he doesn’t believe Katrina has ever acted.
He was quoted saying, “Meine overacting ki hai. Katrina? I don’t think Katrina ne kabhi overacting ki hai. Kabhi Kabhi filmo mein inhone acting hi nahi ki hai lekin overacting kabhi nahi ki hai.” In response, Katrina gave a startling response and asked Ranbir, “Sorry, what did you say?”
Ranbir instantly clarified his remarks, saying, “When I say you haven’t acted in a few films, I mean that you were so flawlessly natural that you didn’t need to ‘act’. In Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara you were so natural.”
In an attempt to defuse the situation, Katrina continued, ‘’We have come on set every day just trying…it’s almost like a competition which people also see in the media. In some places I have been reading, people are taking it in the wrong way. This joking competition that we have between us, people are misunderstanding it.” In a more lighthearted response, Ranbir stated, “I’m not joking.”
