Anurag Kashyap has shared his opinion on the rising entourage costs in Bollywood. The ‘Choked’ filmmaker also expressed his shock to know that some chefs, who accompany actors, even charge as much as Rs 2 lakh for a day.
Anurag Kashyap, who is known to make movies on a considerable budget, when compared to the big-ticket commercial films in Bollywood, expressed his concern on the rising entourage costs.
During a recent interview with Janice Sequeira, Kashyap spoke about some of the ‘outrageous’ demands made by celebrities today. He stated that the ‘most ridiculous demand’ is when a chef charges Rs 2 lakh per day to make food that looks like bird seed, as the portion sizes were too less. He also recalled how an actor had some health issues, and claimed that they eat.

Anurag also reminisced about another incident when an actor demanded that his driver has to be sent to a five-star hotel to get him a burger of a specific bread and vegan ingredients. The driver had to travel three hours back and forth each to complete that chore.
The ‘Choked’ director expressed that such ridiculous demands are the producers’ and their agents’ fault, and added that he doesn’t know why they let it happen. “It doesn’t happen on my sets,” he said.
Anurag Kashyap also expressed his concern on how the hair and makeup artists often charge more than the technicians. He revealed that there are hair and makeup artists who even charge Rs 75,000 per day.
