Farhan Akhtar confirms ‘Don 3’ with Ranveer Singh to start filming in 2025 |

Filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has put an end to speculations surrounding the highly anticipated ‘Don 3,’ confirming that the film starring Ranveer Singh, is still on track. Contrary to recent rumours suggesting that the film had been shelved owing to multiple delays, Akhtar assured that the production will go on floors next year.
In a teaser clip from his chat with Pinkvilla, Akhtar gave an update on his film, stating, “We start filming Don 3 next year.Really, really looking forward to it.”

The announcement comes as a relief to fans of Singh, who have been eagerly awaiting the film that will see the actor taking on the titular role, previously played by Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Don’ (2006) and ‘Don 2’ (2011). Ranveer’s casting had generated considerable buzz, with audiences excited to see his interpretation of the character.

The film that was rumoured to go on floors this year, was delayed, as the makers have not yet finalised their antagonist. With reports alleging that Ranveer’s other film projects like ‘Rakshas’ and ‘Anniyan’ remake being shelved, speculation about the fate of ‘Don 3’ also arose.

ETimes reported in March, that the film’s production had been shifted to the end of 2024 as Farhan revealed that he was shooting for his new film in July. With leading man Ranveer, awaiting the arrival of his baby with Deepika Padukone in September, sources in the knowing revealed that the project would be delayed until the end of the year.
