The pre-release event for the highly anticipated film ‘Kalki 2898 AD‘, directed by Nag Ashwin, took place in Mumbai, today. The event saw the attendance of the film’s star-studded cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Prabhas and was hosted by Rana Daggubati.
Prabhas, who plays a pivotal role in the film, shared his experiences of working with legends Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan.He expressed his admiration and awe, recalling how he grew up watching their films. Prabhas recounted an incident where he attempted to touch Amitabh Bachchan’s feet, only for the veteran actor to humorously refuse.
As Prabhas began to speak about his gratitude towards the producers, Amitabh Bachchan interjected with a joke, saying, “We touch each other’s feet,” Bachchan added, “He never allows me to do that. Prabhas, be honest now.” Rana Daggubati, trying to mediate, described Prabhas as powerful in movies but extremely introverted and sweet in real life. Bachchan responded, “But what’s wrong in touching his feet?”
Prabhas continued, sharing his admiration for Amitabh Bachchan by saying that he met Big B for the first time and he touched his feet. He was like, ‘Don’t do it, if you will do it, I will do it.’ Prabhas said, “I was like sir, I can’t even think. I grew up watching you.”
He said, “My uncles had your hairstyle. He’s the first actor in the country who reached every part of the country. South, North, we all know. In Telugu, Tamil, we saw Amitabh Bachchan’s hairstyle. Any tall people, they call Amitabh Bachchan.”
He also reminisced about Kamal Haasan, recalling how he asked his mother for a dress similar to one Haasan wore in ‘Saagar’. Prabhas also shared a funny moment on how he and his cousins would stuff clothes in their tummies to mimic the actor.
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is set to release on June 27.
