Teen K-drama Hierarchy tops Non English Series charts |

The K-drama sensation ‘Hierarchy’ has stormed to the top of Netflix‘s non-English series viewership charts, achieving a remarkable 6.3 million views from June 10th to 16th alone, solidifying its position as the number one international TV series during that period. This achievement is underscored by its widespread popularity across 72 countries, including dominant first-place rankings in key markets such as Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.
What makes this feat even more impressive is that ‘Hierarchy’ boasts a predominantly rookie cast, devoid of established star power or large fanbases. Critically acclaimed for its performances, ‘Hierarchy’ showcases the talents of actors Roh Jeong-eui, Lee Chae-min, Kim Jae-won, Ji Hye-won, and Lee Won-jung, who have skillfully portrayed the complexities of adolescents breaking free from entrenched class systems.
‘Hierarchy’ is a teen drama revolving around a transfer student’s journey into the stratified world of Jushin High School. Set against the backdrop of a stark divide between the elite top 0.01% and underprivileged scholarship students, the series explores the themes of class disparity and hidden secrets. As the protagonist, harboring a mysterious secret, delves deeper into the school’s social hierarchy, he unravels the truth behind a chilling murder case. Praised for its stylish presentation and interesting plot, ‘Hierarchy’ has garnered enthusiastic praise both domestically and internationally for its portrayal of teenage scandal and societal intrigue.
Reflecting on the overwhelming success, Roh Jeong-eui expressed gratitude, stating, “I am so happy that I can’t even think of what to say. I am grateful to everyone involved in ‘Hierarchy’, and I sincerely thank the viewers for allowing me to leave a record of being number one globally in my life”, as quoted by Kbizoom. Similarly, Lee Chae-min shared his joy, remarking, “Receiving so much love makes me happy every day these days”.
