Amy Poehler voiced Inside Out 2 is turning out to be a major money spinner at the global box office earning more than US $ 295 million in its first weekend, making it the second biggest opening weekend collection for an animation film after The Incredibles 2 in the USA.
But when it comes to Indian Box Office, the film seems to be only having a very decent run in its first extended weekend.The film opened on Friday to Rs Rs 1.55 crore, and on Saturday, saw a nearly 56 % jump to collect Rs 2.43 crore. And on Sunday, the film jumped by another 30 % to mint Rs 3.47 crore.The flm on Monday which was a holiday in India, was able to earn only Rs 1.37 crore which is a nearly 60 % drop from its Sunday ollection. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 8.77 crore.
Inside Out tells Riley’s story through the perspectives of five emotions: Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust, and Fear. In the sequel, as Riley matures and undergoes physical and emotional changes, new emotions join the mix, including Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment, and Boredom.
In India, the makers have roped in young star Ananya Panday to voice Riley’s character in Hindi.The movie stars Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Diane Lane, and Kyle MacLachlan reprising their roles as the original emotions, with Tony Hale, Liza Lapira, Maya Hawke, Ayo Edebiri, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Paul Walter Hauser, and Kensington Tallman joining in as the emotions and characters .
