Alia Bhatt REACTS to the terror attack on pilgrims in Reasi: ‘This is heartbreaking’ | Hindi Movie News



A bus carrying pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi was attacked on Sunday, June 9. Reacting to the news, actress Alia Bhatt took to her Instagram Stories and wrote, “This is heartbreaking. My heart goes out to the victims and their families. Violence against the innocent shakes the very core of our family.”
Earlier, Priyanka Chopra reshared an Instagram post and spoke about the ‘hatred’ we are witnessing.“Devastated. This heinous attack on innocent pilgrims is horrific. Why civilians and children?! It’s so hard to comprehend the hatred we’re around the world,” she wrote on Instagram Stories.
According to reports, on Sunday, a bus carrying pilgrims plunged into a deep gorge following an ambush by terrorists. The attackers opened fire on the bus as it was traveling from Shiv Khori temple to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine near Teryath village in the Poni area, causing it to veer off and plunge into the gorge.
Following the attack, a joint operation was launched involving the police, the Army, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and central intelligence agencies. Initially, The Resistance Front (TRF), a shadow group of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba terror outfit, claimed responsibility for the attack but later retracted its statement.
Meanwhile, several celebs including Rupali Ganguly, Rashmika Mandanna, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Richa Chadha, Mohit Raina, Preity Zinta, and Bipasha Basu, among others, mourned the victims of the attack.
On the work front, Alia was last seen in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, co-starring Ranveer Singh. The movie earned critical acclaim and won hearts with its plot, storyline, and music. Up next, Bhatt is all set to star with Vedang Raina in Jigra.
Jigra, helmed by Vasan Bala and backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, is preparing for its cinematic debut on September 27th.
