In a recent Instagram post, journalist Faye D’Souza reacted by saying that violence is not the way to counter someone else’s stand. She wrote, “With reference to the incident of MP Kangana Ranaut being slapped at an airport, violence can never be the answer. Especially not in our country that was born out of Gandhi’s ideals of non-violence. It doesn’t matter how much we disagree with views and statements made by someone; we cannot react with violence and we should not condone it. It is particularly dangerous when security personnel react violently while in uniform. Imagine, over the last ten years, if those of us who questioned power were assaulted at airports by constables who were in agreement with that power.”
Soon, actress Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Hrithik Roshan, Sonakshi Sinha, Arjun Kapoor, Radhika Apte, Zoya Akhtar, Nimrat Kaur, and Mollywood actress Kani Kusruti, among others, reacted to the post by liking it.
Just after the incident, Bollywood celebrities including Ram Gopal Varma, Mika Singh, Vishal Dadlani, Shekhar Suman and his son Adhyayan Suman, Anupam Kher, his son Sikander Kher, and Aman Verma have condemned the act of the CISF official.

Meanwhile, Sher Singh Mahiwal, a relative of CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur, defended her actions. He mentioned that the argument began when Kaur asked Kangana Ranaut to place her purse and phone on the conveyor belt for scanning. In a viral video, Kaur was seen expressing her anger over Kangana’s controversial statements on the farmers’ protests. Kaur said that her mother was also a part of those protests and she was deeply hurt by Kangana’s past remarks.
