Showing her interest in athletics, the actress told Cosmopolitan India that Mathias is an athlete and had won at the Olympics, which initially caught her attention. She further spoke about her respect for athletes who compete for their country under immense pressure without letting it affect them. Stating that there was no ‘love at first sight’ with Mathias, the ‘Dunki’ actress said, “There was a lot of testing and a lot of me being sure. It was not like a love-at-first-sight situation, for me at least, I took time to test if it’s really practical…the feasibility of the relationship was important for me. I was obviously fond of him and respected him, and we kept meeting, and I grew to love him. So falling in love didn’t happen in a month or instantly.”
She further added that upon meeting him, she felt a sense of security and maturity, which was so evident that she felt like she had finally found her man.
