Sharmin Segal decided to take a completely positive approach towards the trolling she faced for her performance in ‘Heeramandi’.Speaking exclusively to ETimes, the actress said, “At the end of the day, I’m just thankful for the fact that people are noticing me. There’s positive, there’s negative, there’s a whole bunch of stuff that goes with the fact that you’re being noticed, and I’m just grateful that I’ve got this opportunity to be able to put my craft out there for people to see. Whatever it is, people will say what they have to say. They have the right to say what they have to say because you’re a creative person, and you’re putting yourself out there for an audience to perceive you. People will say what they have to say, but the love that Alamzaib’s character is also getting is immense.” She further added, “But we tend to highlight things that people would want to talk about or gossip about or turn it into gossip more than anything else. The filmmaker, speaking to Humans of Cinema, stated, “What people are not aware and they don’t ask, is what zone are you in. I have gone through two and a half years of extreme sickness, dependency on medicines, I have gone through my whole phase of depression. In a phase like that, you have to prioritise yourself first. So, if I am not physically, mentally, emotionally healed…. If you see my interviews of last years, you will see it is on my face how unwell I was. Even then people come and ask you to read their script.” Anurag went on to add that he finally decided to prioritise himself and he is in a much better place now.
