Actor Mithun Chakraborty cast his vote at a polling booth in West Bengal’s Belgachia in Kolkata during the final phase of the elections on Saturday.
After fulfilling his civic duty, the actor exited the polling booth and shared his thoughts. The ‘Kashmir Files’ actor told PTI that voting was his duty as a citizen, and he had fulfilled it. He mentioned that he waited in line for 40 minutes before casting his vote, just like any other citizen.Chakraborty added that he had completed his political responsibilities and would now focus solely on discussing films.
Recently, in January 2024, Mithun Chakraborty, a three-time National Film Award winner, was honoured with the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India. In a video expressing his gratitude, he remarked, “I am proud and happy to have received this award. I would like to thank everyone. I have never asked for anything for myself from anyone, and today, I am experiencing the feeling of receiving something without asking. It’s a unique and wonderful feeling.”
Namashi Chakraborty shared a heartwarming video on his Instagram story, capturing his father’s reaction to receiving the Padma Bhushan Award. In the video, the senior actor expressed, “It’s a feeling of immense happiness and joy, a mix of emotions that I can’t quite describe. After enduring many hardships, receiving such a prestigious honour brings about an entirely unique and indescribable feeling.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, the actor made his debut in films with Mrigayaa in 1976, and since then he has been entertaining audiences with his versatile acting skills.
