Some stories are timeless and need to be told to the masses. One such story is of the blockbuster duo of Indian cinema, Salim-Javed, who gave birth to the iconic character of an ‘Angry Young Man’ and changed the demographics of the entertainment world with their storytelling. Bringing their journey back for the audience are the resilient forces of the entertainment world: Salman Khan Films, Tiger Baby, and Excel Entertainment with their landmark collaboration.
The trio of Salman Khan, Zoya Akhtar, and Farhan Akhtar, under their banners, are all set to present a significant documentary on the veteran blockbuster duo Salim-Javed, who revolutionized storytelling in Indian cinema and ruled the era of the 70s and 80s.

Salim-Javed were among the first Indian screenwriters to achieve star status and are regarded as one of “Hindi cinema’s greatest screenwriters.” They worked together on 24 films between 1971 and 1987, of which 20 were commercially and critically successful. They are the names behind some of the biggest blockbusters of all time, including Zanjeer, Deewaar, Sholay, Trishul, Don, and Kaala Patthar, just to name a few. Salim–Javed were among the pioneers of cultural phenomena such as the “Angry Young Man” character archetype, the masala film, the Dacoit Western genre, and Bombay underworld crime films.
