Anupam Kher recalls his acting debut as a monkey in Lord Hanuman’s army | Hindi Movie News



On May 25, Anupam Kher celebrated his 40th anniversary in the entertainment industry, marking a remarkable journey spanning over four decades. His next venture is the film ‘Chhota Bheem and the Curse of Damyaan’, where he portrays the character of Guru Shambhu. At a recent press event, Kher recalled about his humble beginnings, revealing that his first role was that of a monkey in Lord Hanuman’s army when he was in fifth grade.
During the song launch event of the film, Anupam Kher took a trip down memory lane and recollected about his first role as an actor.Holding a mace in his hand at the event, he expressed amazement, stating, “Can you believe it? I am holding a ‘gada’ right now, and my first-ever role, the first-ever, was of a monkey in Lord Hanuman’s army. I was then in the fifth standard. This is the first time after school that I am holding a ‘gadha’. I feel like a ‘Bada Bheem’.”
Anupam Kher made his debut in the film industry with ‘Saaransh’, directed by Mahesh Bhatt. The film featured notable actors such as Rohini Hattangadi, Soni Razdan, Madan Jain, and Nilu Phule in lead roles. Kher showcased his courage by portraying the role of a father in his debut film. Throughout his career, he has delivered remarkable performances in acclaimed films like ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’, ‘Buddha Mar Gaya’, ‘A Wednesday’, ‘Baby’, and ‘The Kashmir Files’.
During the event, Anupam Kher discussed his experience of working with child artists in his upcoming film. He expressed that he gained valuable insights from the young actors and said, “They are children of this generation. Trust me, I have worked with many child artists in my career, but these kids are very straightforward, modern, aware, and adept at using mobile phones.”
