Rajkummar Rao playfully teases Janhvi Kapoor over nepotism joke; actress REACTS | Hindi Movie News



Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao engaged in banter during a recent interview while promoting their upcoming film ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’. Janhvi jokingly mentioned the privileges she’s enjoyed because of her family background. However, when Rajkummar extended the joke, she questioned if he was teasing her.
As Janhvi reminisced about her childhood, the topic of nepotism surfaced.She recounted an incident from her school choir days, revealing that her microphone was intentionally switched off because of her lack of singing skills. The mic in front of his face was switched off intentionally, she shared during a conversation with Mirchi Plus.
Rajkummar and the interviewer expressed confusion, questioning why Janhvi was included in the choir if she couldn’t sing. Rajkummar then humorously remarked, “Why did they keep her in the choir? Could have said no.” Janhvi chanted with a light-hearted quip, nepotism, of course.
After Janhvi surfaced the topic of nepotism, Rajkummar humorously remarked that if that’s the case, then it’s acceptable. He jokingly expressed a wish to be able to switch off many other mics. Surprised by Rajkummar’s comment, Janhvi turned to him and questioned, “Is that a taunt to me?” Rajkummar promptly clarified that his remark wasn’t directed at her and reminded her that they were working together for the second time after their 2022 film, ‘Roohi’.
A few days ago, the trailer for the film Mr. & Mrs. Mahi was unveiled. The movie portrays the love story of Janhvi and Rajkummar, filled with intense drama and emotion. In the trailer, Rajkummar, a failed cricketer, takes on the role of coaching his wife Mahi after realising her talent for the sport.
Directed by Sharan Sharma, ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi‘ represents the second collaboration between Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, following their work together in the horror comedy ‘Roohi’. Initially planned for an April release, the sports drama is now set to premiere in theaters on May 31, 2024.
