BLACKPINK Jennie Donation: BLACKPINK’s Jennie Donates 100 Million Won to Support Koryo-saram Youth Settlement |

The international housing welfare non-profit organization, Habitat for Humanity Korea, made a heartwarming announcement on May 16, that BLACKPINK’s Jennie had generously donated 100 million won on behalf of the fan club BLINK. This contribution is earmarked to support the construction of a school aimed at aiding Koryo-saram youth, a community of ethnic Koreans residing in the post-Soviet states, in their transition to Korean culture and society.
The donation will be instrumental in funding the construction project of the Rodem International Alternative School in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, spearheaded by Habitat for Humanity Korea. The Rodem International Alternative School stands as a crucial platform for Koryo-saram youth who have resettled in Korea, offering them a supportive environment to navigate their daily lives while pursuing their academic endeavors. However, the absence of suitable infrastructure for communal living and the absence of official accreditation poses significant challenges, underscoring the urgent need for a purpose-built school structure.
Expressing gratitude, Habitat for Humanity Korea conveyed, “We are thankful for Jennie’s heartfelt contribution in the name of the fan club BLINK, helping to build a school where children can nurture their dreams. We will strive for the swift commencement of the construction project”, as quoted by Kbizoom.
