Imran Khan was once known for handling romantic roles in Bollywood until he shifted gears with action films like ‘Kidnap’, ‘Luck’, and ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara’. The director of ‘Luck’, Soham Shah, recently shared that choosing Imran Khan for this action film was not a great choice.
Soham Shah is currently busy with his project ‘Kartam Bhugtam’ and had a chat with India Today ahead of its release.He shared why ‘Luck’ and some other projects of his could not perform well at the box office.
Soham feels that ‘Luck’ did not work because he cast Imran Khan in an ‘action hero’ role. It is not to blame anyone because it was his own decision to cast him, but people could not accept him in such a role. The director also admits that the climax of the movie was promising on paper, but the output was not what he wanted. There were minor changes they made, which turned out to be great learning experiences for him, and he is sure that no one can guarantee success; everyone has to keep going.

Imran Khan was often compared to Ranbir Kapoor in terms of acceptance and fame back in the day. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, he mentioned that he never saw such competition in his mind and does not know how to measure it.
Soham Shah’s ‘Kartam Bhugtam’ is an upcoming psychological thriller starring Shreyas Talpade, Madhoo Shah, and Vijay Raaz in key roles. It will hit theaters on May 17.
