Manisha Koirala reveals making peace with not embracing motherhood post ovarian cancer |



Manisha Koirala, renowned for her illustrious career spanning remarkable roles, recently shared her journey of finding peace amidst life’s uncertainties. Despite portraying maternal characters on screen, she revealed her acceptance of not experiencing motherhood in real life, attributing this realization to her battle with ovarian cancer.
In an interview with NDTV, Manisha reflected on the profound impact of her health struggles stating, “There are, somewhere, unfinished things in my life.As you grow older, you accept your reality. There are so many dreams that you realize are not going to happen, and you make peace with that. Motherhood is one of them”

She acknowledged the emotional turmoil of facing ovarian cancer and the subsequent realization of not being able to bear children. However, she emphasized her resolve to embrace life’s twists, affirming, “What’s gone is in the past, and let me do my best with what I have.”

Addressing the possibility of adoption as an alternative path to motherhood, Manisha disclosed her contemplation on the matter. Despite considering adoption, she recognized her predisposition to stress and anxiety, ultimately opting to cherish her role as a godmother. As of now she is more focused on her aging parents and said being the center of their universe, she now enjoys flying to Kathmandu, Nepal more than ever.

Manisha’s resilience and gratitude extend beyond her personal struggles. In a heartfelt Instagram post preceding the release of “Heeramandi,” she reflected on life’s vicissitudes, acknowledging the profound lessons learned from adversity. Recalling her battle with stage IV ovarian cancer in 2012 and subsequent recovery, she expressed gratitude for the second chance at life and the invaluable lessons gleaned from life’s highs and lows.
