The Fall Guy Box Office collection week 1: Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt starrer fails to cross Rs 5 crore mark in its first week | English Movie News

Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, after fighting it out for ‘Barbie‘ and ‘Oppenheinmer” respectively, joined forces for their next film ‘The Fall Guy’. Though the film has been topping the charts across the globe having minted more than US $ 71 million in its first week of release, in India it seems to be getting a very underwhelming response. The film in its extended first week in the country has managed to earn just Rs 4.9 crore from its English and Hindi release, reports industry tracker Sacnilk.
While the film is spoken about for its lead actors performances and the funny script, it has not been able to connect to the Indian audiences in a big way. The film is loosely based on the 1980’s TV show by the same name, it revolves around Ryan’s character who is working on his ex-girlfriend Emily Blunt’s debut feature film and also has to search for the lead actor of the film.
The film has earned about Rs 3.59 crore from its English screens and Rs 1.31 crore from its Hindi screens. Had the film also been released in Tamil and Telugu, it would have added that much needed push at the box office.
In the past few months Hollywood films namely, Dune 2, Kung Fu Panda 4, Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire have done extremely well at the box office but one needs to accept that all these films were part of a franchise and their earlier installments were not only successful but had also built a stage for their future films
