Mukesh Chhabra, the renowned casting director turned filmmaker, recently addressed speculations regarding a potential sequel to ‘Dil Bechara,’ the film that marked his debut in the field of direction.
In a candid discussion with News18 Showsha, Mukesh unveiled his decision not to pursue the sequel, putting an end to months of conjecture. Earlier this year, Mukesh sparked a frenzy among fans when he cryptically hinted at ‘Dil Bechara 2’ on social media.However, the filmmaker now clarifies that he has abandoned the idea entirely. He said he tweeted about it because he was genuinely planning on making ‘Dil Bechara 2’. But then he realized that he shouldn’t touch that film. Mukesh expressed reverence for the original film and its lead actor, the late Sushant Singh Rajput, affirming his desire to preserve the integrity of the project.

Reflecting on his collaboration with Sushant, Mukesh shared sentiments of admiration and nostalgia. ‘Dil Bechara’ not only marked their first cinematic venture together but also fostered discussions about future collaborations. Mukesh revealed his aspiration to embark on multiple projects with Sushant, cherishing the camaraderie they shared on and off-screen. “It was my dream to work with Sushant on three-four other films. But Sushant had other plans. And we can’t beat that (fate),” he mentioned.
