Did you know Sushant Singh Rajput once played the role of a detective in the famous TV show?

Even after achieving significant success in Bollywood, late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who initially rose to fame through television, made a noteworthy return to the small screen for a special episode. In a special episode aired in 2015, Sushant Singh Rajput played a detective in the hit TV series CID.
Just before the release of his film ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’, Sushant appeared on the show as his character from the film, aiding ACP Pradyuman, Daya, and Abhijeet in unraveling a series of murders spanning across Mumbai and Kolkata.
As Sushant’s character investigates a suspected case of poisoning, he carefully gathers clues. Upon arriving in Mumbai, he discovers that the team has also been looking into a murder possibly linked to the one in Kolkata. Teaming up with the investigators, Sushant’s character, alongside Anand Tiwari, who portrayed Byomkesh’s trusted ally Ajit in the film, successfully tracks down the culprits. The episode concludes on a positive note with the case solved.
Sushant earned critical acclaim for his portrayal in Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’. Plans for a potential sequel were in discussion, but unfortunately, following Sushant’s untimely demise in 2020, those plans were shelved.
Sushant marked his debut with ‘Kai Po Che’, which garnered significant critical acclaim. However, his career soared to new heights with his portrayal of Mahendra Singh Dhoni in ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’. Not only did he earn widespread critical acclaim for the role, but he also solidified his presence at the box office. Tragically, Sushant Singh passed away in 2020, with his body discovered at his residence in Mumbai.
