Imtiaz Ali‘s ‘Chamkila’ released on OTT on April 12 and since then, the film is garnering a lot of praise from all over. While fans are loving this movie based on the life of Amar Singh Chamkila and his wife Amarjot, everyone has also lauded Parineeti Chopra and Diljit Dosanjh for their performances. Kunal Kemmu who recently turned director with ‘Madgaon Express’, is the latest one to praise the movie.
Kemmu took to his Instagram stories to share the review of the film. He wrote, “Uff!!! What a film (clap emojis). @imtiazaliofficial thank you for making this one exactly the way you did. It lingers within long after you have watched it.”
He also praised the performances of Parineeti and Diljit. Adding further he said, “@parineetichopra I’m so proud of you my friend. Kya kaam kiya hai. @diljitdosanjh paaji don’t even know what to say about you. You are a supernova and you shine brightest as Chamkila. What a performance and that voice is just something else.”

He also said that the entire team of the film should take a bow! Meanwhile, Parineeti has now dropped a video comparing a scene in the movie with a real life performance of Amarjot and Amar Singh Chamkila. She wrote, “Facts about me: I love it when directors give me a challenge! This was my favourite Akhaada to recreate 🥰 Thank you @imtiazaliofficial sir for pushing me to do my absolute best in every scene 🙌🏻”
