Actress Mrunal Thakur, who has carved a niche for herself in the Telugu film industry after working in films like ‘Sita Ramam’ and ‘Hi Nanna’, will next be seen in ‘Family Star’ with Vijay Deverakonda. Recently, the actress expressed that she believes buying clothes is a total waste of money and she has never spent more than Rs 2,000 on outfits.
During an interview with Galatta Plus, Mrunal revealed that she does not spend money on expensive designer clothing because one rarely wears them again.“You are not going to wear them again,” Mrunal said. Regarding the attire she wore during the interview, Mrunal remarked, “These are not my clothes, I have just sourced them. The maximum money I have spent on a top is Rs 2000. That also I feel is too much.”
She further added, “Because whatever is expensive, you cannot wear them over and over again. Yes, having a classic statement collection in your wardrobe is good but wearing a brand for the heck of it is a waste of money. I would rather invest that money in food, in some plants, house, or a land where I can do farming.”
Mrunal revealed that she “cheats” and manages to pull it off, while always looking her best for public appearances. “So what we do, I cheat. In my wardrobe, if I have 1000 things, out of that five things will be statement things. I will wear a gunjee and jeans and I throw that one statement thing like a shoe or a bag and I will keep repeating it,” she said. The actress further added that she strikes a balance between staying stylish and avoiding spending on expensive clothes.
“You have to be smart and you also cannot end up investing in anything that’s in trend. Trend will just last for six months, one year and this is gone,” she concluded.
