Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who portrayed the character of Mahendra Singh Dhoni in his biopic ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’, performed the part flawlessly and charmed everyone over. But did you know that the former captain of the Chennai Super Kings, once lost his temper while assisting SSR with the film’s preparations? During the promotions of the film, Sushant revealed that he witnessed Dhoni, who is referred to as Captain Cool because of his composed demeanour, lose his cool.
During the press conference of the film, Sushant revealed, “For the first time, I have seen Dhoni losing his cool. First two to three days I asked him some questions and he answered them calmly. Then he said you ask a lot of questions let me come back. I was just asking him one question in different ways again and again.”
Dhoni further added it was a little awkward for him to talk about himself. “He (Sushant) used to ask one question repeatedly and if he gets a similar answer then he used to believe that I am being honest and then he used to go to the next question,” MS Dhoni said. He added, “It was a bit awkward initially to speak about yourself. After 15 mins you get bored talking about yourself and I was like I need a break, I am going,” he said.
Directed by Neeraj Pandey, ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ was released in 2016. Apart from SSR, the film also starred Kiara Advani and Disha Patani in pivotal roles. It was a blockbuster at the box office. Years after the film was released, Sushant Singh Rajput passed away in June 2020. He was found dead in his Mumbai apartment. The investigation is still going on. Dhoni’s IPL team, CSK, had stated on behalf of all the players at the time. They offered their condolences to his family and fans.
Meanwhile, Dhoni made headlines after CSK announced that he had handed over the captaincy of the team to Ruturaj Gaikwad. IPL 2024 kicks off on Friday, March 22.
