Ankita Lokhande prefers quality over quantity in film choices: ‘I am not meant for rat race’ | Hindi Movie News

After a successful journey on Bigg Boss 17, Ankita Lokhande is gearing up to make her mark on the silver screen with the upcoming film Swatantra Veer Savarkar, where she will portray the role of Yamuna Bai, wife of freedom fighter Veer Savarkar, played by Randeep Hooda. In her recent interview, she revealed her passion for meaningful cinema and her selective approach towards roles.
“I don’t want to be seen everywhere. I want to exclusively be part of certain things. That’s how I want to roll, that’s how I like things. I want to do very different kinds of roles,” Ankita told India Today. She expressed her desire to take on challenging and diverse characters stating that she does not want to be a part of rat race. She said that she does not have any problem with people who do that but it’s not meant for her. “Whatever comes my way, I will pick the best out of the lot. I am very choosy and pick my work wisely. I may make mistakes, but that’s going to be my decision only,” she said.

Reflecting on her two-decade journey in the industry, which commenced with her participation in India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj in 2004, Ankita expressed gratitude and pride in her achievements. “When I look back, I can’t believe it’s already 20 years. I feel amazing that I did such great work and found success. And it’s not just me, but everyone from that lot is doing so well. And we also feel connected like a family. I feel like patting my back and saying shabash,” she shared.

Ankita also debunked the notion of struggle in her career, saying that her passion for acting propelled her forward despite challenges. “When you are working with passion towards something you love, you are unbothered about everything happening around you,” she remarked.
